Karnataka: Suzlon Secures 195 MW Wind Energy Project in Karnataka
Suzlon has secured a major 195 MW repeat wind energy project in Karnataka, further strengthening its position in India’s fast-growing renewable energy sector. The latest project will be developed in the Bijapur district and marks another important milestone in the company’s expanding wind power portfolio.
With this new development, Suzlon’s total renewable energy orderbook in Karnataka has now crossed the significant 2 GW mark, highlighting the state’s growing role in India’s clean energy transition.

Strong Demand for Advanced Wind Turbine Technology
According to company officials, the latest project will involve the installation of approximately 65 advanced S144 Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs), each with a rated capacity of 3 MW.
Suzlon stated that its 3 MW wind platform has continued to witness strong demand from commercial and industrial (C&I) consumers looking for reliable renewable energy solutions.
The company also noted that total installations under its advanced wind platform are approaching nearly 9 GW, reflecting strong momentum in India’s wind energy market.
Karnataka Emerging as a Renewable Energy Hub
The project will be executed in Karnataka’s Bijapur district, where several large-scale renewable energy developments are currently underway.
In addition to this project, multiple commercial and industrial renewable energy installations with a combined capacity of over 664 MW are also being executed in Karnataka.
The state has increasingly emerged as one of India’s leading renewable energy destinations due to:
- Strong wind resources
- Favorable infrastructure
- Growing industrial energy demand
- Rapid renewable energy investments
Industry experts believe Karnataka will continue playing a key role in India’s clean energy expansion over the coming years.
Growing Focus on Round-the-Clock Renewable Energy
Renewable energy developers are increasingly focusing on round-the-clock (RTC) power solutions to meet rising electricity demand from industries, electric mobility, data centers, and emerging digital infrastructure sectors.
The growing adoption of wind energy, hybrid systems, and energy storage technologies is helping improve renewable energy reliability and long-term sustainability.
Experts believe dependable renewable energy solutions will become increasingly important as India accelerates its transition toward cleaner power generation.
Complete Project Execution and Long-Term Support
As part of the agreement, Suzlon will manage the complete project execution process, including:
- Supply of wind turbine generators
- Erection and commissioning
- Long-term operations and maintenance (O&M) support
The company stated that its focus on project quality, execution efficiency, and lifecycle support has helped strengthen long-term partnerships within India’s renewable energy sector.
Wind Energy Supporting India’s Clean Energy Growth
India continues expanding renewable energy capacity across wind, solar, hybrid, and storage segments to improve energy security and reduce carbon emissions.
Large commercial and industrial consumers are increasingly adopting renewable energy solutions to lower electricity costs and meet sustainability goals.
Wind energy is expected to remain one of the most important contributors to India’s long-term renewable energy roadmap.
